Ten of Swords (Reversed)…

There are certain aspects of your life that you can feel are coming to a close. In fact, you are more than eager to walk away, but is it really time to go? There may be more here - a few things left unsaid or undone before you can truly free yourself and move on. So, WAIT! I know you feel ready, but what else is there that needs resolving? Take a closer look and be willing to give just a little more of yourself, so you can be sure you won’t have any residual energy hanging on as you drift into a new chapter. Closure and how you say goodbye is sometimes hard, but can be just as important as leaving it all behind. Make sure you have tied up any loose ends and don’t be surprised if you discover that what you are letting go of deserves your honor, love and respect as you say “so long!”

Six of Cups…

View recent photos-5.png

Imagine you can travel through space and time and you venture back in years to meet your younger self. Where do you find them? On the playground? In your old room, playing? In school crafting a piece of art for the refrigerator? What would you say to your younger self? How would you approach them? What might the child you were say to you? Just suppose you could gift them with something - what do you think you would give them that would enrich their journey through life? Now imagine you present them with this thing or feeling or advice and they take it with glee, but it’s time to leave and return to the here and now. As you come back to the current you, what do you now have? What have you learned from your younger self and how does this new gift fill your spirit so many years later?

Three of Swords…

collage-17.png

Sometimes it’s impossible to let go of the hurt and pain you’ve been dealt and, that’s ok. Letting go isn’t always the answer. “Forgive and forget” sounds nice, but can be laborious and quite difficult. Anguish and distress can consume you, but eventually you have to find someway of managing it. Your determination to “weather that storm” becomes a testament to who you are. Sometimes the affliction you have faced changes who you are in surprising and uplifting ways. You grow stronger, more aware and more open to new possibilities. This is quite different than holding on to it…this means you have conquered it by accepting it and allowing it to transform you for the better. In this case, shouldn’t you honor that hurt? Make no apologies - wear it with pride.

“Pain makes you stronger. Tears make you braver and heartbreak makes you wiser.” - Many wise people

The Wheel of Fortune…

collage-16.png

Life has its ups and downs, but do you ever feel like there is someone watching over you as you swirl? It’s possible there is a divine force guiding you as you weave a your way through the maze, even if you don’t see them. It’s reassuring when, after going through something tumultuous, you find it was all for a reason and a greater lesson emerges that propels you forward. Are you crafting this, or do you have the guidance of the universe gently whispering the way? Tonight before bed ask the stars if you can meet your guide when you dream. How will they appear to you? Where shall you meet? What will they say? You better start writing down questions! Maybe they won’t say anything at all, but you will feel supported by their presence. Maybe it will put you at ease and ready you for your next big spin. Oh! I can’t wait to hear about it!

The 3 of Pentacles (Reversed) into the King of Wands…

collage-15.png

There is a collaborative project in your life that needs your full attention. The group dynamic isn’t quite working the way you had hoped and all of the ideas, though very good ideas, are just not fusing. You have the power and the passion to step in and take charge! You also have a skillset or perspective that is needed to make the project successful. Declare yourself the leader, even if you must do it unofficially to maintain the camaraderie. Your teammates look up to you and they will follow your lead and, let’s face it, they need all the help they can get! You have the power to drive the project toward success. The start of this week is a good time to step in and own it.

The Sun & The Ace of Wands…

collage-14.png

Happy Valentine’s Day! This is a holiday that can make many feel excluded and unwanted. Share love today any way you can and everywhere you go. Chocolate, roses and cards are nice but there are other ways of sending your message of love. A sunny smile goes a long way. An unexpected phone call can definitely warm the heart. A hug or even a masked elbow bump can delight. A simple conversation and the willingness to listen is pure love. Be kind, warm and compassionate to all you encounter. Guarantee you will feel the love you give come back to you threefold.

The Queen of Wands (Reversed)…

collage-13.png

As a reader, I often get the question, “What can I do to invite love?” While the deck sometimes has a very specific answer for the querent, there is usually an overriding theme for all: “Know thyself”. We’ve all heard that insight about how you cannot love or be loved if you don’t love yourself, well, I don’t believe this to be true. We all go through ups and downs, experience high levels of self-love and self-confidence that can shift situationally and with time. This is normal and ok. But, knowing who you are - your beliefs, values and what you stand for will allow for you to attract the right person in. That person should love you in times of soaring self-love and in times of plummeting self-doubt, because they love the core of who you are. Queen of Wands (Reversed) invites you to take a moment today to check in with your personal power and knowledge of self. Your inner compass and an understanding of what drives you to grow and expand can and will make you a magnet for your personal brand of love. What are you ready to invite in, based on who you are?

And, the cups keeps appearing!!! Page of Cups evokes that first love/new love feeling - the idea that you have found a treasure to be explored and deciphered and all at once, you have all of the answers but know nothing at all! When you meet someone new that you instantly click with, it can feel like a world of possibilities has been opened. You may become cautiously entranced and delighted as you dance into the shiny, new emotions you encounter. It’s true, that the start of things is always magical, especially when you are open to them without fear or judgement. Discovering a new love is one of only times in life that nervous butterflies feel right and being completely lost can excite you. In what other avenues of your life can you channel this energy? First Love/new love euphoria can be useful in many other life situations you encounter. Think of ways to bring this bliss to your every day routines. Magic is everywhere - I promise.

King of Cups…

collage-12.png

It’s not surprising to me that at the moment I decide I want to ask the deck about love, all of these cups come swimming to the surface! King of Cups presents today to remind us that emotional life, especially in love, can be quite delicate and unpredictable. If we are to master it, we’ll need to take ownership of our emotional effect on others. In a true flow of give and take, we all must navigate the murkiness and rockiness of emotions to ensure our loved ones feel safe, despite the onslaught of waves. With the right person, you will always wear your heart on your sleeve and reassure them that you can be a balm in stormy weather. Think about the reliable fluidity you bring to the relationship and how that person depends on you to go with their ebb and flow. Are they doing the same for you? Be the person you want them to be - flexible, buoyant and leading from the heart.

The Eight of Cups…

View recent photos-3.png

In our continued exploration of love through the cards, tonight we pulled the Eight of Cups. Sometimes the best gift you can give someone you deeply love is to just walk away. There are those moments in a relationship (with friend, colleague, family or lover), when that dreaded feeling of doubt in the gut takes over and you know that it is not going to work out as you initially hoped. If you stay, or delay the inevitable, it will only breed more toxicity and make it worse for both you and them. If you truly love them and love yourself, you will walk away and trust that if they are meant to be a part of your life and you a part of theirs, that you will find each other again in one form or another. This can feel like defeat and you may be shrouded in sadness and disappointment, but you are both actually winning. Think of how you have changed each other and how you’ve grown together. That will stay with you always, no matter where you roam. Tonight, before you fall asleep, take a moment to recall those lost loves and wish them peace and happiness, wherever they may be.

“You can love them, forgive them, want good things for them, but still move on without them.” - Mandy Hale

The Devil…

collage-8.png

Love can be dark and dangerous. Have you ever had a love that pushed your limits and boundaries in ways that thrilled you - a person that you craved so deeply that you couldn’t see straight? Remember that urgency to be so close you couldn’t breathe or think? This is a love that feels bad and good all at the same time. Some might call it lust, but that’s almost dismissive, isn’t it? A dark connection might not be built to last, but it is undeniable love. Think about the dalliances of your past. What were the delicious and savage elements of who they were that drew you in and made your pulse boil? What did your own spirit love about their unpredictable energy and how did those juicy features fill your soul? Perhaps there is something to be explored here, within. What lies in the shadow of these past, deviant loves could ignite personal change for you in the present. They were, after all, a reflection of your own desires.

The Six Of Cups…

collage-5.png

Do you remember a time when love was simple and innocent? When connecting with another person felt easy and natural? Maybe you don’t, because you didn’t know there was any other way in those moments. Our younger selves connect without fear and restriction. We meet people in early life that we allow to make a lasting impression on our hearts. Who were those people to you? Remember the smallest acts of sharing and kindness and honor how they shaped you. This was pure love. Can you reconnect with someone from your past that was this to you? It might be worth it, as that shared energy never really goes away and you have the power to uniquely lift each other up - a kind of deep, knowing connection to innocence and each other. When we are young, love can be an abstract concept, but it is undeniably there, shaping who we are. Rekindle that kind of love…

The Seven of Pentacles…

IMG_3521.png

In staying with our theme of real and true love, let’s examine our card of the day - the Seven of Pentacles. The myth of fairy tales and rom-coms would have us all believe that love hits you like a flash out of the dark, knocks you off your feet and makes your life instantly marvelous. And, after that moment, you live happily ever after. WTF?!? You and I, we both know this isn’t a reality. Real love can come out of the blue, but can also develop over time and with great care. Once you have it - and let’s face it, you always have it in your life (friends, family, even pets qualify) - you must nurture it and work hard to strengthen it each and every moment of your life. If you put in the work, you may be rewarded…but there are never any guarantees. Sometimes the union that you are trying to grow, just refuses to respond. It can wither or drift away, no matter how strongly you dedicate yourself to its success. But, it might also thrive and multiply in ways you hadn’t expected, bringing with it safety, security, fresh energy and abundant magic. Take a moment today to examine your relationships with those you love. What can you do to help them prosper and bloom?

The Five of Pentacles…

IMG_3510.png

Sorry for all of the hearts surrounding this card but, as we draw closer to Valentines Day, I am interested in examining the cards I draw through the rose colored lenses of love. Sounds a little corny, but not that commercial style love that gets crammed down our throats through rom-coms and romance novels - real, true love that exists outside of the fairy tale dreams of princes. Let’s get real about the Five of Pentacles. Today, see if you can step outside of your comfort zone enough to be kind in a new and inclusive way. We all know what it feels like to be an outsider - that awkward loneliness of never feeling like you belong. If you recognize that this is a reality for someone in your life - change it! Be the person that steps in and helps them in a way that makes them feel included, accepted and loved. To invite someone in that feels left out, secluded and unappreciated is an undeniable way to exude love. Do it!!!! I think you might be surprised at how it changes your perspective - not just about them, but about the world.

The Star…

collage-3.png

Today is a day to be renewed. Clear away those dark thoughts and cleanse your psyche. Be vulnerable in a way that makes you feel renewed. Restore your faith in your own positive thinking and welcome hope into your heart. You have felt so weighed down, but you know that all of this was only in your mind. If you start to feel those negative thoughts creep back in, find a way to calm yourself and rise above it all with clarity. Release yourself. Give yourself the space you need heal. Your true nature is luminescent. Let your light shine.

The Eight of Swords…

View recent photos-2.png

Hmmmmm…. I am not surprised at the amount of swords we are seeing this week. There is a certain heaviness of thought plaguing us this week - a rawness, a cloudiness. Do you feel it like I do? I hope you don’t, but if you do, remember this: even when the dark shroud circles and you feel like a prisoner in your own mind, you will be aided by a companion who is close by. Allow the warmth of their heart to guide you out of this self-imposed trap. Let the light of their spirit illuminate a path you hadn’t yet seen - a path to hope where there is a promise of better days. No matter how great your thorny thoughts loom and swirl around you, allow yourself to see that kindred spirit hovering - they are waiting to lead you back to your true self. You are protected. You are loved.

The High Priestess (Reversed)…

collage-2.png

There are just those days when we don’t feel connected to our own power and intuition. And this is likely one of those days. Enthusiasm may be low and inspiration is hard to find. Motivation? Forget about it. It’s ok to feel a little muted. Don’t make any big decisions today and don’t engage in emotional discourse that requires a deeper connection. There are wires within you that have become unplugged. Lay low, embrace the blah-ness and blame it on the Mercury Retrograde. Allow yourself the freedom of doing and feeling nothing. Soon, your inner wisdom and passion will re-emerge and you’ll be reinvigorated by that magic you hold within.
