The Fool…

collage-5.png

Life is short, my friends. And as we travel further into its trenches, the more complicated it can become. The major arcana illuminates this journey for us in a very vibrant way. We all have burdens, conflicts and trials. But, today throw all of the complexities of your current circumstances into the wind, because you deserve to feel free. Imagine you are at the start of everything, without a care in the world. Notice how the colors of the world around you reverberate and call to you with promise. Feel the glow of the celestial light that warms the skin with both protection and possibility. Don’t think or try to understand- just be. You deserve one day, at least, where you find yourself free of all that noise. Let it be this day. Lose all sense and understanding of obligation and become the fool. It is healthy to, every so often, choose freedom over wisdom. Remind yourself that you can, at any moment, experience life with fresh eyes and an open heart.

Three of Coins - Reversed…

collage-4.png

Do you feel lately like everything you take action on in life is much more complicated than it needs to be? But, seriously…you work along side logical, industrious people who share likeminded goals, but every little thing is labored. Small inconveniences pop up at the last minute. Someone drops the ball and you or others are left to pick up the pieces. You can’t get the information you need to really move forward, but when you finally do, your deadline is yesterday? The list goes on and on of tiny frustrations that pile up into a giant wall in front of your target. This might be a moment to take a step back and analyze how you are communicating. Are you clear in what you want to be accomplished? Are you talking through all of the potential roadblocks and obstacles that might get in your way? Are you setting realistic expectations for yourself and others? Are you being fair in all dealings? It’s time to fine-tune your personal plan to accommodate the others that are involved. This weekend, spent some time charting it all out for yourself. What wrinkles can you smooth out in advance of your next steps? It really shouldn’t be this difficult, but you know that.

The Wheel of Fortune…

collage-3.png

Your day may have started like a bouquet of fresh roses, but you have no idea what is coming your way! You will feel the world around you start to spin and who knows when it will stop. Scary? Maybe…but also exciting to see how this day evolves. Something is bound to catch you by surprise, so hold on as you spin. Those bits that fall away - are meant to - just let them go. Whatever kind of ride you are on, there is purpose and meaning, even if you can’t see it. Just hold on, and trust that you will be rewarded. Try to have fun, if you can - your action and reaction to the dizzying turn of events determines where you land. Happy Thursday!

A Three Card Message…

collage-2.png

After a day of activity, it is easy to feel exhausted and exasperated. It’s true, things are really picking up pace and the speed of movement is both exciting and uncomfortable. Have you forgotten what it means to collaborate? Me too! But, the world around you is urging you to reconnect with that creative spirit to spark something new. At the heart of it all, don’t lose sight of the value in shared experience. Your relationships have the power to shine a sparkling light on who you are and how you choose to live in and move through this moment of time. Rely on those closest to you to heal and renew your spirit, so that you might better participate in your daily activities. If you had to pick two calming, caring people in your life whom you are close to that you might connect with tonight - who are those dazzling souls? If you can’t be close to them, is it possible to feel their restorative love by just knowing that somewhere under that starry sky or even above or in it they dwell. Allow even just the thought of them to ground you in the moment. You are protected. You are loved.

The Hierophant - Reversed…

collage.png

You have always seen the world differently than others. Your unique understanding is vital, not only for your every day existence, but also for others that interact with you. It’s not always easy to be the one that understands a deeper meaning, sees more and acts and reacts within this vision. People will sometimes view you as defiant, when you are just inhabiting your own undeniable truth. Rather than give in to what is expected and accepted, you persist in your comprehension and remain strong willed in the face of adversity. You are not a follower, but you are also not a leader, though your mind, heart and voice are essential in every moment. Though you may find yourself frustrated, hold fast to your beliefs. Your distinctive way of interacting with the world you inhabit holds the keys to allowing others the freedom of looking beyond what is in front of them and rising above the surface.

The Page of Cups…

collage-184.png

What feelings repeatedly pop up for you in your day to day life? Think about it and get curious about the why and how of it all. But, don’t judge them or yourself. See if you can step outside of the emotion to just examine what is really there. Is there opportunity presenting in this juicy cup? Or are there bitter challenges and obstacles swirling there for you to swallow? How might an obstacle or challenge become an opportunity? We all long to taste love and personal/professional growth, but first you must shift your perspective to see clearly what you have in hand. Have fun and indulge your explorative nature by stepping away from it to find true understanding. Treat each emotional upheaval or blunder as a new adventure to traverse. You could turn what seems like a poisonous potion into an elixir of life. Drink it in, my friend!

The Seven of Pentacles…

collage-183.png

On the surface, this card indicates that your hard work is starting to pay off. Yay! But there is something under the surface here that needs to be addressed. Your progress is undeniable, but can you keep up at this pace? Should you? You may need a mental break to reassess where you stand. You have made progress and you should celebrate what you have been able to accomplish, but your sacrifice is undeniable. If you keep going at this momentum, you will reap the benefits, BUT maybe there’s something more to be explored that you haven’t seen or thought of yet because you are just too busy with work. This week, recognize that your goal might be easier achieved or differently accomplished - in a way that supports your own mental health and wellbeing. The hardest of work is done - you have laid a groundwork that will flourish. Take a pause, check in with your spirit, heart and mind. Redirect that determination in a way that benefits all the pieces of who you are and also promotes what you have to offer in a way that benefits others. You deserve to honor your efforts by living through them in a wholistic way.

The Ace of Swords - Reversed…

collage-182.png

Ok…so, I have to be honest….this one is really hard for me to digest in the moment. But, the cards that want to be acknowledged are always the ones that come to the surface when you don’t want to deal with them. They will scream at you the message you understand, but do not want to accept. Tonight…grab on to the idea that for the opportunity you want to take, accept and see grow and expand, the timing is off -or something is just not right. Let it go, because deep down you know that it is just not meant to be. Sometimes the brain is right in thinking that you are not ready or not willing to take a chance on a new thing that is coming your way. But, that’s ok…not to be ready or able to fully embrace that opportunity is not a reflection on who you are…it’s maybe a reflection on where you are in this moment. Let it go - cast it out into the sky - release your mind from the mental hold of what you think you should be doing or where you think you should be. Tonight, when you sleep, drift out into the night sky with no real purpose. You are allowed to just float among the glittering stars. You are allowed to just….be. So, just be. Let go of all of those expectations…just float among the starry sky and feel free.

The Five of Cups…

collage-181.png

Remember when you were little and something disastrous occurred because of your behavior? Maybe it was an accident or maybe you did it on purpose, but either way the result was devastating. Knowing you would have to take responsibility and face the consequences was always traumatic. The fear, the guilt, the shame, the doubt and the undeniable dread of having to come clean, when you just want to run and hide? When you look back now, it’s kind of funny just how inconsequential it all seems in retrospect. I once let an orange crayon melt on the seat of my parent’s new car and I couldn’t shake how miserable it made me on that family trip. Though, now, we all joke and tell funny stories about it. To be honest, if you ask me, that all grey interior was just screaming out for a pop of color!!! As children, as adults, as humans - sometimes we just mess up. To dwell on this and torment ourselves with “should have, would have , could have” is not useful. Don’t hold on to those feelings of shame - they can grow into some very toxic self harming thoughts and behavior. So, it’s broken - but you still have a lot going for you and so much more to come! Get your head outta your hands and wipe that look of fear off your face. Forgive yourself and join us in the land of imperfect potential. Later you will look back on this moment and chuckle as you retell the story to others. I promise….

“I crashed your pickup truck and then I had to drive it back home - I was crying, I was so scared of what you would do…
of what you would say…But you just started laughing, so I started laughing along saying, it looks a little rough
but it runs okay - it looks a little rough but it runs good anyway…” - Ani DiFranco from her song, Imperfectly

Two of Wands…

collage-180.png

Longing for something more? Connect to a zen-like contemplation by thinking beyond where you currently are. The world is a vast, open, glorious place and when you confine your way of thinking to your current spot, you are not seeing the full possibilities. So, take a step back, close your eyes and widen your gaze. Focus your imagination on a wider, more resplendent scope. The piece you are missing can be found further away - so expand your vision and listen to the distant wind. When you begin to see the far-reaching potential of what you have in front of you, your plan can get highly specific because you have the full scope. Partner with the core of who you are and what you want. If you can only see as far as the horizon, you aren’t yet looking with your heart.

“Look with your heart and not with your eyes. The heart understands. The heart never lies. Believe what it feels, and trust what it shows. Look with your heart; the heart always knows.” - Andrew Lloyd Weber from “Love Never Dies”

The Seven of Wands…

Does life suddenly feel frantic - like you are being attacked at all angles by many elements? It’s unnerving to be overwhelmed and you think you have to defend yourself at every turn. But, you are in a great position to deal with all of the chaos being thrust upon you. You already have the upper hand. In the art of self defense, the first step is always to ground yourself. In order to react with power, you must connect to your center, breathe and assess the true situation. The reality may surprise you - the threat you feared can appear differently and you may not have to act at all…

The Star…

collage-178.png

Tonight, before bed, go to your window or take a walk outside. Look into the sky and pick out a star. If you cannot see them through the clouds, know that they are there and try to connect to the radiance of a specific one that is hiding just out of sight. In this cool, distant glow there is a secret story of another time. In fact, it could be the star you have chosen doesn’t even exist in this particular moment. See if you can hear the whispering of it’s faded knowledge - what would this star want you to know or feel? I think it might tell you a tale of your own radiance in lives past and you would come to understand the longevity of your own spirit. Tonight when you dream, fly into the sky and touch that star. Allow the wind, as you travel toward the heavens, kiss your skin and fan out your hair. Feel how the cooling light of that star is actually your light. Dream of your own beauty as never ending and when you reach the height at which you can touch that star, make a wish, before you return from the sky. You may not remember that wish when you wake, but trust that the universe will hold it close. Sweet dreams!

Cards for the Week Ahead…

collage-176.png

Darkness is clouding a current transformation your spirit is compelled to undergo. Endings are difficult - sometimes very painful and we often cannot see what waits ahead. You may find this week that a piece of who you are must be left behind in order to advance out of the clouds. But, truthfully, that part of you has long been gone and your idea of its importance is upside down and not what you wanted it to be . You cannot stay in your current circumstance, clinging to an aspect of what you once were - it’s time to say goodbye and move forward. Take one step toward acceptance. This will feel burdensome and you may find that in your smallest of movements, you are exhausted, but there is assured growth and great potential for you to start over under a much bluer sky. The path to the re-envisioned version of you will be slow, but your reemergence is worth every step. Stay on the path as this week continues and you will be lifted from that darkness you feel surrounding you.

The Two Of Cups…

collage-173.png

I am always saying “the cards pick you - you don’t pick the cards” and tonight it couldn’t be more true. I asked my BF to pull the card for us and he pulled the Two of Cups. Instantly, I was overwhelmed with how deeply it resonated for me. You see, I had an early morning procedure at the doctor today (nothing serious, but when do we ever like to have a procedure)?!? He came with me, kept me calm, made sure we got home safe and looked after me all day. The two of cups is undeniably about emotional partnership, but there’s that Caduceus symbol hovering above - indicating that this is a partnership that may have the power to heal. You will recognize this symbol as an image that has been adopted by our modern medical profession - it stems from the Rod of Aesculapius (the Greek God of Healing) and also is associated with Hermes (Greek God of Merchants & Travelers) often associated with quick action. This past year and half, we have seen such quick heroic action taken by our medical workers partnering with the general public to get us through this pandemic. Clear message here - whether it be a medical or spiritual affliction - love heals. And those who have followed a path in which they dedicate themselves to the healing of others are undeniably full of compassion. So, in pulling this card, we should be grateful to all of those that have helped us heal. Take a moment tonight to connect with someone who has guided you in this way over the years - if you can call and thank them, do it! If you cannot just remember all they have done for you and feel deep gratitude in your heart. They will get the message. Then, think about how you might return the favor or pay it forward. Sweet Dreams!

Interested in taking your passions to a new height? Do you want to master a certain ability with a sense of freeness and confidence? It’s time to sharpen your focus. You have real creative vision and your excitement is undeniable, but if the aim is a powerful ownership of what you are undertaking, you must have a very concentrated intention. When a lion stalks prey, it strategizes. Sometimes, it’s a run and jump - sometimes they sneak up and wait for the right moment and other times, they enlist the help of their pride to divide and conquer. What is your plan of attack? Becoming specific about how you would like to advance is key to achieving the goals you have established. You have what you need within to inspire others, but you must develop your own personal strategy to pounce. Bring all of your elements to your quest and focus them!

The Ten of Swords - Reversed…

collage-171.png

A client who is in the midst of a magical, but heavy transformation helped me select the card of the day! And then, my day became so crazy that this card became the card of the night. Night time - moonlight -rainy skies in NYC - there is a very different energy that emerges in the moonlight when considering the cards. The shady, underneath, hidden parts of who we are come out to play…so nighttime cards must be considered in a different light. It’s clear we are at the end of something here, but there’s something very potent in this shift that must be illuminated. There’s a light and releasing of pain that is undeniable in this moment - each hurt that has pierced us along this journey must be examined, because the lessons are valuable and in honoring the burdens one by one, we can see a path forward much more clearly. What struggles and injuries is your spirit holding on to? Make a list of the hardest difficulties you have faced - you know, the ones you can’t seem to let go of. Before driving off to sleep ask the most important question - WHY? Why do I feel it’s important to hold tightly to this energy that weighs me down? Then, think about letting them drop away one by one and allow yourself to fall into a dreamland that is unencumbered by fear, doubt, regret or pain. You deserve simplicity. Clear your mind and spirit of all wounds. When you wake up imagine there is a halo of light that is protecting you from any of these daggers. Start your life fresh and new in the protection of this calming light. Sweet dreams!

Seven of Cups…

Seven is a lucky number for many. But, just how much luck is involved?!? The universe is ready to gift us with opportunities, but let’s face it - there is always work involved when bringing those opportunities to fruition. The choices are abundant, but after you choose, how will you make that dream a reality? It’s time to get real about the gifts you have been given. Hone in on what you most want to achieve or accomplish and then leap into action to support it fiercely as it advances. In the original of story of Aladdin, Aladdin transforms from a lazy, aimless boy into a driven man through his encounter with the lamp. The genie in the lamp will grant the wishes, but Aladdin’s ultimate success is routed in how he chooses to advance himself with those wishes. You must be willing to take what the universe gifts you and turn it into real treasure. Rub that lamp, my friend, then get to work!
