Check in each day for a little bit of magic…
Card of the Day
The Four of Wands - Reversed
The Four of Wands (Reversed) from The Joie de Vivre Tarot by Paulina Cassidy
Take a moment today to examine the line of communication between you and your nearest and dearest. The effects of Quarantine time and the current state of affairs in our country can certainly take a toll on our personal relationships. Often we get so caught up in our own daily dramas that we miss the natural cues from loved ones that they may need something from us. They may be feeling cut off, left out or detached from you in ways that you haven’t recognized. See if you can visualize their current situation from their perspective - put yourself in their shoes. This will help you to understand what they need from you. If they need space, don’t take it personally. Giving them space is an act of love and caring, just as if you were giving them flowers or cooking a meal. If they need connection, dive in, but do it with the same level of tenderness. Trust your instinct and honor their spirit. Share love.
The Hierophant
The Hierophant from The Rider/Waite/Smith Deck
Every reader has that one card that just seems to elude them - say hello to mine. I know the meaning behind it and I recognize the symbolism within the card, but I just can’t connect with this one as deeply as I would like! Today, I had this amazing “tarot coaching” session with someone who wanted to know more about the cards herself and she asked me about this one and I just started laughing. The Hierophant is so elusive! He holds the fundamental knowledge of all things spiritual and divine. He is seen distilling this information in the card. But, to me, he feels rigid and ambivalent - like he’s holding back - testing us. But, perhaps that essence is the important piece of the card. Structure and full knowledge of a situation are quintessentially important before moving forward in that realm, but sometimes this can feel evasive. There is a kind of a test we all must face to get to the next level of what we want in our lives. I think the Hierophant is, perhaps, a no-nonsense reminder that we need spiritual fundamentals and structure to pass through every day challenges. He’s got that knowledge and we’ve got to get it from him! One of my favorite thing about the cards is that there is always more to learn and discover within each one. Hierophant has reminded me of that today.
King of Cups
The King of Wands from The Light Seer’s Tarot
Often when we think of royalty and authority we think of control through decision making and absolute power. However, THIS King leads differently. He is a visionary who strives to unite others to help him get the job done. He believes in balance, harmony, compassion and leading others through his own creative inspiration. How can you do this in your own life today? Do you need to reach out to friends and colleagues for advice on a more efficient way to achieve your goals? Perhaps, if you share with them your ultimate motivation and path, they will be charmed by your charisma and activated to help you move forward. You will benefit if you lead with compassion - take a lesson from the King!
Knight of Swords - Reversed
The Knight of Swords (Reversed) from the Rider/Waite/Smith Deck
You suddenly have so much on your “to-do” list and feel like you’ve got to leap into action. BUT, SLOW YOURSELF! Take a moment to focus and steady your thoughts - come up with a plan and really get specific. The clearer you are in mind and thought about all that needs to be done, the quicker you will be able to conquer your tasks. Also, if you charge ahead with no real plan of action, you will be met with confusion and frustration. Take a moment today to center yourself and gain a more distinct outline of how to move forward. If you do this, it will guarantee stress-free success!
The King of Pentacles
The King of Pentacles
Embrace your financial and worldly power in a practical way. It’s time to step up your game and take control of your finances. If you are in doubt that you have this power within you, imagine you are your own personal CEO. Greet your daily life spending, saving and investing with a methodical business like approach. You hold more power than you think. Become that bold, all knowing leader of your own financial worth. You are capable of manifesting so much more, if you truly feel like the boss that you are!
The Eight of Pentacles
This is a rendering of the Eight of Pentacles by Sushila Burgess - “Tarot of The Younger Self”
This is a repeat card for us today, but the message feels a little different. It’s clear that this card is and has always been about mastery of a craft - hardwork paying off. If you are like me, you have probably been doing a fair amount of “self-work” during this “Quarantime”. I picked this rendering of the card because children are doing “self-work” everyday, freely and openly, without even recognizing it. Each skip, each song, each craft, each playdate, each trip to the playground is, for them, one step closer to fully realizing who they are and how they choose to be in the world. They don’t know this - they just dive in and experience these growth spurts with an open heart. As adults, we have clouded all of this with doubt, fear, negativity, past experiences gone awry etc. Every “No” we have heard along the way can stick to us like the glue we once used to add glitter to that art project on the fridge. Today I want you to acknowledge that the work you have been doing for self or others is much needed and approach the continuation of that work with the heart of a child. Maybe even pull out that coloring book - why not?
The Five of Wands
The Five of Wands from The Morgan Greer Deck
This card is very apt for our moment. I have been tuning in to the DNC convention each night and it has been incredibly inspiring to me. For sometime, perhaps for a very long time, it has felt as if we are all at odds with each other. It’s so exhausting to constantly defend your stance and your territory against what you perceive to be a threat. But, maybe it’s time to stop and listen to each other. Differing opinions can be useful tools to empower each other. The universe is not “black and white”. There is room for all. Let’s lay down our wands and begin together on a path of unity. There is strength in acceptance, understanding and compassion (The Strength Card assures us of this). It’s time for a change and what a relief it will be to all of us to put an end to the constant warring and struggle. Differences can be empowering. Let’s do this!

The Two of Swords
The Two of Swords - Light Seer’s Tarot
Ugh - Decisions! Sometimes you just don’t know which way to go. The path is unclear, your logic and intuition are cloudy and you feel stuck. If you have come to place where you feel paralyzed, blinded by confusion and everything circling around you is chaos, the only thing to do IS make a move. Why wait here? Any decision you make will be the right one, because it will lead you in a new direction. Throw that sand into the wind and tear off the blindfold.

It’s time to take action to get out of your head. All those deep worries you are holding so close to your heart - all those dark words that others have hurled at you - all of that hurt and pain, it’s just not needed anymore. Take one small step today to release yourself from these daggers. Do something that frees you from your own chains of mind and heart. You are bound to find optimism and joy, if you do.
The Four of Pentacles
The Four of Pentacles from The Modern Witch Tarot Deck
There is a sense of relief that comes with having found financial stability and balance in your life, especially in times like we are experiencing right now. Holding on to what you have may make you feel like you have a structured existence - that you are grounded and safe. However, safe isn’t always the best path and sometimes you have to give a little up to get way more in return. Don’t become stagnant out of fear. It’s ok to take a few risks and chances with what you have. If you give, you will receive abundance you didn’t even know was waiting for you!
The Six of Wands & a surprise visitor…
The Six of Wands with The Devil tagging along - Light Seer’s Tarot Deck
I have been longing for a new, modern deck that reflects the beautiful diversity of our times and after much research, I’ve decided The Light Seer’s Deck really spoke to me. It’s arrived!!! Joyful day. So, I pulled our card of the day this morning from my magical new deck, not realizing that I “accidentally” pulled two cards. “Accidentally” in quotes because I believe there are no accidents when you are pulling cards. If the card wants to be seen, it will find a way to pop out at you. Six of Wands - beautiful! But there, just behind it was our old friend….the Devil. Ugh! He just keeps coming back. I knew exactly what it meant to me, but since I pulled this for all of us, I have a few questions for you… What is keeping you from being present in every moment in celebration of yourself? Is it a voice in your head that will not allow you to truly honor your authentic self? Is it a person’s opinions of who you are that are holding you back from self-love? Is it a destructive behavior that you just cannot shake? Maybe it’s a destructive person that you just cannot shake? I think you deserve to be celebrated for every piece of who you are. Cut the chains that hold you back from recognizing your own glorious, imperfect beauty. You are needed and loved in this world. Let yourself be honored and celebrated.
The Moon
The Moon Card
Crawl out of the illusions of your dreams, but bring them to the surface when you come. If you are feeling moody and removed, you are not alone. What are the dark and delicious secrets you are keeping buried away in your subconscious? Bathe in them, breathe and emerge differently. There is power to be discovered within - deep within.
The Star
The Star Card
Strip away your walls and embrace vulnerability. There is a new and healing nakedness available to you. As you release your fears and turmoil allow for this deeper openness to reassure you, maybe even resurrect you. Sometimes, the stripping away of constrictive energy is dire. Let yourself go. Cleanse, heal, breathe and love with no boundaries. You are beautiful. The simple heart of who you are is and always has been enough. Allow vulnerability and you will be reborn.
The Six of Cups
The Six of Cups from The Dark Wood Tarot by Sasha Graham
I was feeling a little dark today, so I decided to pull from my Dark Wood Deck which is a new deck from my dear friend, Sasha Graham. The guide to this deck says on the back “Welcome to the Dark Wood…Where getting lost helps you find yourself”. Sometimes its necessary to travel to dark places in order to find the light. This card lures us to examine giving, sharing and growing in a different way. What memories do you have of dependency? Your needs early in life and how and why they were met have shaped how you choose to move through your life day by day, whether you recognize it or not. Maybe it’s time to recognize it and connect to some of the hidden pools of your personality that have formed how you engage in reciprocity today. A deeper sense of your core desires when dealing with others will help you take flight. Go deep.
The Ace Of Wands
The Ace of Wands - Deviant Art
This beauty of a card keeps coming up for us. The deck is sending a clear message - Stop stalling on that creative project you have been dreaming up. If it’s something that drives you passionately, pursue it. If you are pursuing it and it’s not working the way you thought it might, re-envision it. What personal magic have you not yet set in motion for this project? What more can you bring to the table to make this take flight? If you are connected with your full heart, the universe will support you in this endeavor. To be honest - I needed this message today and I hope it serves you as well…
Time to GET TO WORK!!!
The Ten of Wands
The Ten of Wands - Original MerryDay tarot cards artwork by Louisa Poole.
It IS possible to take on too too much. Yes, you are strong and capable, but why not lighten your load a little bit? Examine that daily/weekly/monthly TO DO list and see what is essential. Also, take a look at the burdens being placed on you by others - work, relationships, family, friends etc. Is there any way to consolidate or streamline? Anything on your list that can wait for the moment? Figuring out how to accomplish things on your list efficiently and with less struggle will only help you in the long run. Pull back a bit on that self-inflicted work load!!! You will feel even more motivated if you do!
The Emperor
A rendition of The Emperor by Julie Lundy
What does power mean to you? I suppose this is a deep question for a Saturday… It’s been an enlightening few months watching the people in power all over the world struggle with the pandemic. Some have risen to the challenge and delivered compassion while getting the job done. But, many have floundered revealing to the world that though they have power, the intention behind that power is malignant. So revealing. I ask the question again….What does power mean to you? In what parts of your own life do you hold power and when you utilize your power, what is your intention? Sometimes we discover we have power in ways we didn’t even see. Recognize this. Be clear in your intentions…
Knight of Pentacles
Knight of Pentacles from The Shadow Light Tarot Deck
Feel like you are preparing to go into battle? So do I! This is your moment to focus, prepare and steel yourself for what is to come. Preparation is everything. But, also do not doubt that you have the rebel dark horse spirit within to win this war. Embrace that noble warrior within and ride off into the night with abandon.
